This letter is to provide information concerning access of NRC personnel, including contractors, to your facilities for the purpose of conducting an appraisal of your Health Physics Program. The on site phase of this appraisal at Farley is scheduled for approximately two weeks beginning December 1, 1980.

Reference is made to the letter of January 22, 1980, from Victor Stello, Jr., Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement. indicates those NRC personnel and contractors for whom non-employee, no escort required, picture badges as authorized by 10 CFR 73.55(d) (5), are requested for prompt access to all protected areas.

The personnel identified in Enclosure 1 have completed indoctrination in radiological protection, emergency response and security training comparable to that furnished by you to regular site employees granted unescorted access. Any additional training provided by you to this team should be limited to site specified matters required for the individuals' safety.

Should you have any questions concerning this matter, we will be happy to discuss them with you.
