The Toledo Edison Company (Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1) Docket No. 50-346

Dear Sir:

I On November 18, 1980, t.he Nuclear Regulatory Commission published in the Federal Register an Order for Modification of License concerning the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1. The Order provided that the licensee may request a hearing with respect to the Order on or before December 8, 1980.

On behalf of The Toledo Edison Company, we respectfully i request an extension of the period within which we may re-quest a hearing until January 8, 1981. The purpose of the requested extension is to allow the Company to develop a better understanding of the requirements called for by the Order. This in turn will allow a more reasoned determination fool s
