ENCLOSURE REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THE BIG ROCK POINT PLANT DEGRADED GRID VOLTAGE 1.

In Reference a. Item ib, the lowest 480V bus voltage is 413V (0.8608 P.U.) for Bus l A.

What is the voltage.on Bus 2B (safety bus) for this case?

2.

In Reference a, there is a difference between the full load voltages in Item 1 and 5.

Please explain.

3. 'In Reference b, Response la, the lowest voltage at the safety bus (28) is stated as being 387V.

In. Reference a, the voltages are higher (423 volts). What is the reason for this difference?

4.

Please explain how the new undervoltage protection system can be classified 'as 1E to meet IEEE Standard 279 when it is located on a non-class lE bus.

5.

Table 1 does not show the setpoint of second level undervoltage relays as stated in Reference a.

The value should have maximur.;

and minimum limits to both voltage and time delay setplints.

6.

Please supply the technical specification changes as called for in the Enclosure 2 of June 3,1977 letter from the NRC.

7.

What is the worst case voltage drop betweer. the lE load buses /

MCCs and the class 1E motors? The Big Rock Point analysis fails to consider the voltage drops.
