Dear Mr. Abel:
In the Quad Cities Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report dated July 27, 1979, we identifled a number of itans which could not be evaluated until additional infomation es pmviced. Enclosure 1 to this letter is our evaluation of the following items:

- )etection Systen Based on our reyms, we find the proposed fire protection modifications regarding 3.1.l(1), 3.1.5(f) and 3.1.5(j) are acceotable. We find the modifications regarding 3.1.5(d), 3.1.5(k), 3.1.6(b) and 3.2.1 are unacceptable and that additional modifications are necessary as stated in our review. The review of Safe Shutdown Analysis is ongoing.
