Y ENCLOSURE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 RESPONSE TO DEFICIENCY 50-327/80-34-07 Deficiency As required by Technical Specification 6.8.1.d, written procedures shall be established, implemented and maintained for the Plant Physical Security Plan. Physical Security Plan Implementing Procedure PHYSI-13 requires, in part, annual requalification for individuals assigned to the fire brigade.
PHYSI-13 rurther requires that the Safety Section verify the training records of employees assigned to the fire brigade.
Contrary to the above, on August 15,- 18, and 19,1980, two individuals were assigned to the fire brigade who had not received requalification training since January 1979.
Corrective Steps Which Have Been Taken and Results Achieved When this item was identified, the two operators who had not received the requalification training were immediately removed from all fire brigade duties.
Both men have since rece*_ved the required requalification train-ing and are now certified for P.asignment to fire brigade duties.
Corrective Steps Which Will Be Taken to Avoid Further Noncompliance Operations Section Instruction' Letter No. 82 contains a list of all employees who are subject to be assigned fire brigade duties. Each person designated to assign employees to fire brigade duties has been instructed to verify that each person selected for this duty has met current qualifications. The plant safety engineering supervisor reviews and maintains a copy of this list and schedules training to ensure timely requalification of all employees listed.
No fbrther corrective action,is planned for this item.
Date When Full Compliance Will Be Achieved The deficiency has been corrected and we are now in compliance.
