This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. Streeter of this
office on August 11-15, 1975 at Yankee Rowe Nuclear Power Station, Rowe,
Massachusetts of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-3 and to
the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Streeter with Mr. W. Jones
and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection, and
to a subsequent telephone discussion between Mr. Jones and Mr. Streeter
on August 16 and 17, Mr. St. Laurent and Mr. Streeter on August 25 and
Mr. Johnson and Mr. N. N. St. Laurent on August 27, 1975.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the Office of
Inspection and Enforcement Inspection Report which is enclosed with this
letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinatio.ns of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this
inspection, no Items of Noncompliance were observed by the inspector which
had not been previcusly identified and corrected by you.
Our inspector also verified the steps you have taken to correct the
items of noncompliance brought to your attention in a letter dated
November 14, 1974. We have no further questions regarding your action at
this ti=c.
In addition, our inspector examined those activities conducted under your
license relating to the subjects covered in your letters to Region I dated
8 and
July 25 and August 4, 1975, (Abnormal Occurrence 75-6) and August
15,1975 (Abnormal Occurrence 75-7).
We note that A0 75-7 involved an
