$$s Q^ 5il$U YA This refers to your request dated June 23, 1965 for AEC authorization of Proposed Change No. 64 in the Technical Specifications of Facility License No. DPR-3 for the Yankee reactor pursuant to the provisions of Section 50.59, 10 CFR 50 The proposed change, which describes improvements relating to the safety injection system, would authorize the addition of a liquid heating loop consisting of a shell and tube heat exchanger and a 100 gpm centrifugal pump, and the installation of a loop for purification of the contents of the safety injection system.
We have reviewed the proposed change and have found that it does not present significant hazards considerations not described or implicit in the hazards summary report, and that there is reasonable assurance that the health and safety of the public will not be endangered.
A copy of our related safety evaluation is enclosed.
In view of the foregoing, pursuant to Section 50.59,10 CFR 50, Change No.
64 is hereby authorized as proposed.
