By letter dated December 28, 1989, the licensee responded to the subject generic letter. In its response, the licensee confirmed that it will meet the schedule and recommendations of the generic letter, and that it will-provide clarifications, if any, on _a timely > basis.
Therefore, in accordance with instruction provided by the June 28, 1989' memorandum from James G. Partlow, the licensee is considered to have met -
the reporting requirements of this generic letter. It is my understanding that review and verification of program implementation will be addressed by the regional inspection process with the aide of a Temporary Instruction developed by_ the Mechanical Engineering Branch.
By copy of this memorandum, Region I is advised of the licensee's commitments to comply with the generic letter.
