Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2 Inservice Inspection Program Revised Submittal Date Gentlemen:
Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo) indicated -in a March 31, 1989 submittal that the Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Unit 2 Inservice Inspection (ISI) Program would be submitted to the NRC within-six months of receipt of an Operating License (OL).
PECo's intent at that time was that the OL referred to would be the original
'OL1(issued June 22, 1989).
However, unforeseen circumstances have resulted in. minor delays.
The ISI Program is now expected to be finalized for submittal to the NRC no later than February 25, 1990.
This submittal date corresponds to "within six months-of receipt of an OL" if-the OL is considered to be the full power license (issued August 25, 1989).
My staff has discussed this revised submittal schedule with the NRC Project Manager for LGS and understands this schedule revision to be acceptable.
As before, the ISI Program will include augmented inspections for the feedwater check valves (as discussed in our letter
"?
of January 3, 1989) and augmented inspections to detect intergranular stress corrosion cracking.(as discussed in our letter of August 2, 1989).
