In response to NRC letter dated September 15, 1989 (TAC 73146 and 73147) regarding our response to Item 2b of NRC Bulletin 89-01
" Failure of Westinghouse Steam Generator Tube Mechanical Plugs",
the following supplementary information is provided.
For Beaver Valley _ Unit 1 (BV-1), all of the plugs (6 hot leg and 6
cold' leg) from heat 3962 have been captured with a
" plug-in-plug" type modification performed during the seventh refueling outage.
This completes the required actions for Bullet'in 89-01 for BV-1.
For-Beaver Valley Unit 2 (BV-2) all of-the' hot leg tube plugs modification performed during the _with a
" plug-in-plug" type from heat 3962 were captured first refueling outage.
The remaining BV-2 cold leg tube plugs from heat 3962 will.either be repaired or replaced prior to the tube plug lifetime estimates being exceeded.
The remaining lifetime for these plugs at this time based on the Millstone Unit 2 benchmark is at least 8000 ef fective full' power days _ (EFPD).
