Dear Mr. Seidle :
The referenced reports concerning concrete block walls in the Control Building at Wolf Creek were previously submitted to your office pursuant to 10CFR50. 55 (e).
A description of the deficiency, an analysis of the safeny implications and details of the initial corrective actions proposed or taken were included in the Interim Report dated 1/24/80.
Updates re-garding the corrective action status were provided in my letters dated 4/30/80, 6/27/80 and 9/30/80.
Below is a further update on nonconforming concrete masonry walls.
All walls identified in NCR INN 1536C on Attachments 2 through 5 and 41, 45, 47 and 50, have been removed and rebuilt in accordance with the design drawings, except as follows:
(a)
Elevation 1984' - Control Building:
Remaining upper portion of wall located on Column Line C5 has been completed as per Bechtel engineering disposition of NCR, with installation of additional stiffeners being 90% complete.
Remaining portion of block work for the duct chase located on C5 column line cannot be completed until duct work is installed and completed.
Completion of duct werk is scheduled for late Decemher,1980.
The additional structural reinforcing for the duct chase will be installed after the remaining portion of block work is completed.

Elevation 2000' - Control Building: Wall located 4'-6" north of and parallel to Column Line C5 has been completed and is a-waiting insta* 1ation of additional structural reinforcing. Duct chase at Column Line CA, straddling Column Line C5, has not been completed due to installation of duct work. Additional reinforcing will be installed following completion of remaining block work. The rework of the small electric chases, located at CA line on C3 and 12'-10" south of C5, is complete except for the attachment of top support steel.
Rework of the north and east walls of Stair No. C-1 are also complete except for the attachment of top support steel.
(c)
Elevation 2016' - Control Building:
Rework of duct chase located at Column Line CA, straddling Column Line C-5, has not been co=pleted due to installation of duct work.
The rework of the small electric chases, located at Column CA Line on C3 and 12'-10 south of CS, is complete except for the attachment of top support steel.
(d)
Elevation 2032' - Control Building: The duct chase (straddling C5 line) was removed because of excessive concestion within the duct chase which made installation of additional structural re-inforcing Lmpractical, if not impossible. The walls will be rebuilt in accordance with the design drawings and specifications.
The small electric chases at Column Line AC on Column Line C3 and 12'-10", south of CS, presently lack the last course of
- concrete masonry block and the attachment of the top support steel.
The above described uncompleted work is not on the critical path and because of the need to coordinate,vith other work, such as duct erection, the remain-ing work on the block walls may not be 3 00% complete until mid 1981..If the work is completed prior to July 1,1981, we will so advise you.
If on July 1,1981, the work is not complete, we will provide an updated status -
report.
