Interim Report transmitted 1/24/80 and updated by letters of 4/30/80 and 6/27/80, all transmitted to W.C. Seidle by G.L. Koester
Dear Mr. Seidle:
The referenced report concerning concrete block walls in the Control Build-ing at Wolf Creek was previously submitted to your office pursuant to 10CFR50.55(e). A description of the deficiency, an analysis of the safety implications and details of the initial corrective actions proposed or taken were included in the Interim Report.
Updates regarding the corrective action status were provided in the referenced letters.
Rework of the walls is proceeding as outlined in the June 27 update letter with the exception that the duct chase located on column line C-5 at elevation 2032'-0 will be rebuilt in accordance with the design drawings, thus eliminating the need for additional stiffners.
Completion of the installation of the additional stiffners and reconstruction of the removed concrete block walls is currently scheduled prior to December 1, 1980. At that time a final report will be prepared and submitted; or, if further work remains, an update on the program will be made.
In the interim, please advise if you need additional information.
