-INFORMATICN RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STEAM GENERATOR SLEEVI;4G REPAIRS SAN ON0FRE UNIT 1 1.

Final person-rem exposure for. sleeving repairs --

J The final occupational exposure, including uncorrected exposure determined by dosimetry incurred in May,1981 and an estimate for scheduled rework in June, 1981, incurred during the steam generator-sleeving repairs is projected to be 3496 person-rem.- This exposure has been broken down by activity as follows:

' Exposure (Person-Rem)

Activity Special Maintenance

  • Decontamination 173 Tube Surface Preparation 279 Sleeving 2780 Rad Waste 36 Routine Maintenance-69 Inservice Inspection 42 Special Tests 117
  • Includes 109 person-rem for Health Physics and 22 person-rem for Supervisory Review 2.

Total numoer of individuals involved in the sleeving repairs --

The total number of individuals involved in the sleeving repairs was approximately 2,400; 1500 temporary maintenance personnel and 900 project support personnel.

3.

Reduction of dose rates in hot leg channel heads --

The reduction of the dose rate in the hot leg channel heads of the steam generators was achieved using decontamination and shielding in the channel heads. The average reduction in dose rate was 3.38 with the reduction in each steam generator hot leg channel head as follows:

Steam Generator A - 3.27 Steam Generator B - 3.04 Steam Generator C - 3.82 4.

~ Airborne releases, liquid releases and solid wastes --

The airborne releases generated during the sleeving repairs was 9.97 curies Tritium ana 5.45 E(-6) curies Particulates. The liquid releases generated during the. sleeving repairs was 5.44 curies Tritium and 2.61 curies Mixed Fission and Activation Products. The solid wastes generatea j

during the' sleeving repairs was 30,334 cubic feet containing 170.8
