In the Matter of Application of Westinghouse Electric Corporation For a Special Nuclear Material License For The Alabama Nuclear Fuel Fabrication Plant (ANFFP) to be Located Near Prattville, Alabama Docket No. 70-2909

Dear Dr. Williams:

This is to confirm our telephone conver'ation of February 25, 1981, concern-ing your letter to me o' February 3, 1981, in which you indicated an interest in filing a petition for leave to intervene in the above-captioned proceeding.

You have advised me that you have not yet concluded whether or not you wish to become an intervenor in the ANFFP proceeding, and that you intend to discuss this matter with Julian McPhillips, Esq., attorney for the Safe Energy Alliance of Central Alabama, Inc.

You have further advised me that, should you determine that you wish to become an intervenor, you will file an appropriate petition.

As I indicated to you, in the event that you determine that you wish to file a petition for leave to intervene, you should refer to my letter of January 27, 1981, as to the appropriate procedures to be followed.

Sincerely,

)
