Subject:

NUREG-0578 Hydrogen Monitoring Installation

Dear Sir:

Our letter, Reference (b), proposed a hydrogen monitoring system for Maine Yankee which involved the purchase of a new thermal conductivity analyzer and utilization of the existing Bendix analyzer for redundancy.

The basis for our determination along with some minor modifications were also distassed in our letter.

We are inclined to believe, in light of your decision on another similar proposal [ References (c) and (d)], that the lack of communication during the past eight months is indicative of your concurrence with the Maine Yankee proposal. Therefore, Maine Yankee will, effective this date, initiate plans to install the hydrogen analyzers as detailed in Reference (b) during the 1981 refueling outage.

We trust this information is satisfactory; however, should you have an, questions, please contact us as soon as possible.

Very truly yours, MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY H
