Thank you for your letter of July 31, 1980 requesting several documents regarding the Western New York Nuclear Service Center in West Valley, New York.
My records indicate that I previously sent you these documents.
enclosed with my letter dated July 20, 1979. A1:opy of this letter is attached.
The staff's Interim Safety Evaluation I dated August 1977 has not yet been revised, so the copy sent to you last year is still the most recent version available.
I also sent you the entire set of reports documenting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) sponsored analyses of the effects of severe earthquake on the fuel receipt' and storageipool at West Valley.
These reports include:
1.
Letter transmitting the set of reports from L. C. Rouse (NRC) to facility co-licensees dated May 14, 1979.
2.
" Structural Analyses of the Fuel Receiving Station Pool at the Nuclear Fuel Service Reprocessing Plant, West Valley, New York" by Richard G. Dong and S. Marshall Ma, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory (UCRL-52575) dated May 5,1978.
3.
Letter report from Dr. W. J. Hall, Nathan M. Newmark Consulting Engineering Services to Dr. A. T. Clark, NRC staff dated March 7,1979.
This letter report reviewed the Livermore report mentioned above.
4.
NRC staff coment:
"Effect of Earthquakes on Spent Fuel Storage Pool at West Valley" dated May 14, 1979.
If you did not receive any of these documents, I would be glad to send you another copy.
Since some of the reports are in somewhat limited supply and since we dc receive other requests for these reports, I would prefer not to send you a second copy unless you did not previously receive the initial set.
