(a)J. G. Keppler letter to C. Reed dated May 12, 1980.

Dear Mr. Keppler:

Reference (a) transmitted IE Bulletin 80-13, whjch identified instances of cracking in Core Spray Spargers at BWR facilities.

As required by Bulletin Item 1, the Unit One Core Spray Spargers were visually inspected on September 6, 1980, utilizing a remote underwater TV camera.

The segment of piping between the inlet nnzzle and vessel shroud was also inspected on each Ccre Spray loop.

Adequte resolution was obtained with the underwater TV camera.

No evidence of cracks was identified during the conduct of the above described inspection.

It is acknowledged that the Bulletin requires subsequent refueling outage inspections at all Commonwealth Edison Company operating BWRs.
