Dear Mr. Grier:
As cvamitted to in our February 2,1981 submittal pertaining to environmental qualification of Hine Mile Point Unit 1 electrical equipment, this 1etter provid.s the status of Niagara Mohawk's environmental qualification efforts.
As regards ongoing qualification we have obtained material identification data and test data for approximately 60% of the components being evaluated.

Evaluations are being conducted to determine applicability of test data to Nine Mile Point Unit 1 equipcent. No data are available for approximately 35%
of the remaining components and efforts are ongoing to obtain data on the remaining 5%. Aging analysis of the material data is being performed.
Plans for resolution of qualification deficiencies are being developed.-
These will be ir.cluded in our response to the forthcoming safety evaluation report on Mt.7e Mile Point Unit 1 environmental qualification.
