Solid State Protective Relays and Trip Devices - Deficiency SCR's CESCRIPTION OF DEFICIENCY:

The deficiency is as described in initial report filed February 29, 1980.

In addit on, further information was provided to Mr. Victor Stello, NRC/0IE by letter of July 16, 1980, from Mr. D. D. Duvall of Gould-Brown Bover i indicating that the problem had been evaluated further and was determined to be random in nature rather tnan generic.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:

Based on the manufacture.'s evaluation and our own testing and operating experience at Catawba, no equipment changes or corrective action is required, p ... -- ~
