Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Emergency Response Facility - Generic Letter 81-10 Gentlemen:
The purpose of this letter is to provide the operational date for the Emergency Response Facility (ERF) as indicated in our letter of June 2, 1981. After a review of the remaining engineering and construction work associated with the ERF and the delivery dates for equipment, we have determined that the Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 ERF can be operational by June 1, 1983.
The delay in the operational date is attributable to the large amount of engineering required to interface the various vendor equipment with the existing plant hardware and the large amount of construction effort involved in interfacing the required electronic equipment with existing plant instru-ment and electrical systems. Duquesne Light Company will continue tc place a high priority in the engineering and construction of the ERF.
Very truly yours, J. Carey Vice President, Nuclear cc:
D. A. Beckman, Resident Inspector
