GN-127 Gentlemen:
Further to our October 6,1980 and March 20, 1981 letter, the following is submitted in response to your April 4,1980 letter concerning I. E. Bulletin 79-03A.
Westinghouse, our NSSS supplier, has completed their investigation with their suppliers. The only piece of equipment under their scope which contains SA-312 or A-312 fusion welded pipe and subject to the design stresses greater than 85 percent of the code allowable stress is the Spent Fuel Pit Demineralizer.
This component is part of the non-safety related portion of the spent fuel pool purification system.
Therefore, GPC is not using any welded SA-312 or A-312 piping that exceeds pressure design stresses of 85% of the maximum allowable stress at the design temperature for any safety related components.
