Dear Mr. Kay:
On March 13, 1980, the Office of Inspection and Enforcement issued Bulletin 80-08, " Engineered Safety Feature (ESF) Reset Controls."
This Bulletin addresses the concern that the use of reset push buttons alone could permit certain ESF systems components to revert to the normal state following safety system actuation. The Bulletin specified actions to be taken by licensees to address these concerns.
By letter dated June 12, 1980, you responded to the three specific questions asked by the Bulletin.
During our review of your response, we found it necessary to discuss the details of your modifications with members of your staff.
In order that we may complete our safety evaluation on this subject, we request that you submit responses to the attached requests for additional information that we discussed with your representatives in telephone conversations on March 4,17 and 18,1981.
Your response is requested within 30 days of your receipt of this letter.

Provide a description and sketch of the containment isolation valve circuit. Snecifically address the following areas:

a.
Show the redundant solenoid valve circuits on the sketch and describe their operation.
b.
Verify that the bypass switch is an administratively controlled keylock type switch and that annunciation is provided to show that the actuation system is bypassed.
c.
Show the location of the connections for the manual isolation switch in the containment isolation circuit sketch.
2.
Provide a description and sketch of the charging pump control circuit.
3.
Provide a description and sketch of the nitrogen valve solenoid con-trol circuit.
