Dear Sir:

Subject:

Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 NUREG 0737 The purpose of this letter is to transmit to you our response to three NUREG 0737 items. Our responses to these items are as follows: '1. NUREG items 11~ K.3.16, " Challenges and Failures to Relief Valves." This item has been addressed in a feasibility study conducted and submitted by the BWR owners group. We have reviewed that study and endorse it. Based on this study we have determined that no modifications are required for the Oyster Creek Station, however, as an added margin, we are presently planning on increasing the Technical Specification Setpoint limit on some of these valves. We expect the required Technical Specification change request to be submitted to you by July 1,1981. 2. NUREG item 11.K.3.18., " ADS Actuaticn." This item has been addressed in a feasibility study conducted and submitted by the BWR owners group. We have reviewed and endorse that study for the Oyster Creek Station. 3. NUREG, item 11.K.3.29., " Performance of Isolation Condenser." In our response to item 11.B.1 " Reactor Coolant System vents" we committed to_ install high point vents on the isolation condenser system. These vents,.in conjunction with revised emergency procedures abrogate the requirement for conducting the study described in NUREG 0737, item 11.K.3.29. If you should have any further questions on this issue,.please_ contact Mr. James Knubel (201).455-8753' of _ my staff.
