GN-116 Gentlemen:
The Georgia Power Company wishes to submit the following information concerning the-violation of concrete test cylinder sampling'as discussed
'in your inspection report 50-424/81-01 and 50-425/81-01. A review has been conducted of the sampling data and the sampling frequency and we concur that the sampling frequency was not in accordance with the procedure and construc-tion specification requirements.
A change notice to Construction Specification X2AP01, which changed the testing frequency when correlation testing-is in effect, was received on site approximately 12 hours1.388889e-4 days
0.00333 hours
1.984127e-5 weeks
4.566e-6 months
prior to the start of the pour. th'e' p'our,: inadequate' time was' available~ for discussion and coordination among the various testing personnel of = the test frequency changes.

LCorrective action was taken to review the new testing frecuency imme-
' diately'following"the Containment Building Unit' #1' pour 'and to insure that all personnel assigned to concrete testing were aware of the new testing frequency. A procedure change was made to Plant Vogtle Field Procedure CD-T-02 to incorporate the new testing frequency and revise the Concrete Placement Pour Log.
This form was changed to -institute an easier means of correlating the truck and pump discharge results to insure compliance. A Non-Conformance L Report"(NCR) was written onT the_ missing ~ test samples'and presented'to engi-

'neering for a disposition.
A Concrete Testing Review Sheet has been developed to insure that_a
-review of the test. frequency is. performed. This fann is a visual represen-
-tation used to depict the cubic yardage at which each test was taken and whether it falls within the required test frequency.
It is a Civil Q.C.
review fonn and shall be maintained in a desk top procedure. The Concrete Testing Review Sheet will note any problems for resolution from engineering and will serve to measure the effectiveness of the training program.
