SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS FOR FE3*tCARY,1981 The Unit operated at approxi ately 73% reactor power (67% Electrical) fro:

February 1 to February 2a. On February 2?., de reac:or power was reduced :o 20 :o facili: ate an entr/ in:o :he dr/well :o decernine cause for excessive uniden:ified leakage. ~'c.e leakage was identified to be packing on de ' A' reac:or recirculation pu::p discharge valve. The valve was backsea:ed, leakage reduced to acceptable le.vals and power returned :o 75%.

On ?chruarf 25 the uni: was reduced to 50% pcuer to backwash de =ain condenser because 1:1 gh winds and heavy seas had broken up large arioun:s of seaweed which clogged the ::aveling screens. Power was re:urned to 75% af:e the backwash and naintained a: tha: level until 0145 on Fe'eruarf 23 when the uni: was shu:

down to repair feedwater heater leaks.

The uni: was li=1:ed to 75% during de ::enth of February because of lini.ations en the turbine with the "3" Feedwa:er Eea:e train isola:ed.
