ADDENDA TO SECY 81-20 C Add the following paragraphs 5 c and d:

Add a new paragraph 50.34 (e) (3) (e) 5, as follows:

If the option chosen for hydrogen control is a distributed ignition system, equipment necessary for achieving and maintaining safe shutdown of the plant shall be designed to perform its function during and after being exposed to the environmental conditions created by activation of the distributed ignition system.
d.
Replace the present language for Action Item II.E.4.4. (50.34 (e) (2) o) with the following:
s Provide a capability for containment purging / venting designed to minimize purging time, purge line size and occupational exposure.
Provide and demonstrate high assurance that the purge system will reliably isolate under accident conditions.
