'C' J
License TR-1, Docket 50-7
Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
This is to advise you of an earthquake that occurred at 2:45 a.m., Tuesday, March 3,1981. The epicenter was reported to be on the Hayward fault aboui:
9 miles southwest of the General Electric Test Reactor. The Richter magnitude was reported to be 4.1.
The second floor seismic recorder showed the following results:
NW NE SE SW Up Down Peak Accelerations
.04
.04 Wii
.04
.03
.026 The existing seismic trip mechanism worked as designed. There have been a total of nine events that have caused the seismic trigger to operate, four since the shutdown of GETR. There is nothing new or significant in regard to the measured values of acceleration u in the operation of the seismic trip mechanism.
It is another confirmation that this system works reliably.
Very truly yours,
