Dear Mr. Dromerick:
On March 19, 1981, the NRC Staff met with the SNUPPS Utilities to discuss ultimate heat sinks and service water systems. Your meeting summary dated March 23, 1981 and the referenced letter listed additional information that would be provided regarding these systems. The requested information will be provided as indicated below.
a) The next revision to the Callaway Site Addendum will contain a change in Section 9.2.5.2.2 that addresses protection of the Callaway UHS cooling tower against icing and debris, b) The next revision to the Callaway Site Addendum will contain a change in Section 9.2.1.2.2 that addresses protection of the Callaway ESW pumphouse suction against tornado debris.
c) The next revision to the Callaway Site Addendum will correct Table i
l 9.2-5 concerning technical specification requirements for the ultimate t
heat sink.
d) The next revision to the Callaway Site Addendum and to the Wolf Creek l
Site Addendum will contain changes in Section 9.2.1.2.3 that clarify prelube requirements for the essential service water pumps, i
l e) The next revision to the Wolf Creek Site Addendum will contain changes l
in Sections 3.8.4 and 9.2.1 concerninr, the crossing of ESW piping and other, non-seismic buried piping.
