SUBJECT:
SEQUOYAH 2 SER INPUT ON II.E.4.2 AND DEEP Ci< AFT PUMPS Your Supplemental Safety Evaluation Report dated May 13, 1981, contained the two stated items requiring resolution that to me are new review areas not previously identifted. First, I have not received any formal request from you regarding a need for infonnation for TVA on the purge valves. The reviewer came to me this week and noted concern about the valves and the need for inforcation.
It was ny advise that such items at this stage of review should work through the management chain especially where we had recently appmved Unit 1 operation with these valves. I have further discussed this matter with Dick Vollmer.
It is necessary that you give your personnel attention to this natter before we take further action.
The other item dealing with IE Bulletin 79-15 seens like a generic issue and thus it is not clear what you are looking for on this plant. Your clarification is required before further action is taken.
