Dear Mr. Cherry:

This letter is in response to your petition on behalf of the Rockford League of Women Voters which requested that I take several actions with respect to Commonwealth Edison Company's Byron Station. The petition has been considered under the provisions of 10 CFR 2.206 of the Commission's regulations. For the reasons stated in the enclosed decision, the petition has been denied.

I Copies of the decision will be placed in the Commission's public document room in Washington and in the local public document room for the Byron Station. A copy will also be filed with the Secretary for the Commission's review in accordance with 10 CFR 2.206(c).

I have also enclosed a copy of a notice that is being filed with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
