O'Reilly Gentlemen:
This letter transmits Georgia Power Company's (GPC) update of its I&E Bulletin 79-01B response as committed to in a
letter to your office dated February 17, 1981.
The update covers the portions of GPC's response affected by the delay in implementing the schedule for installing qualified limit switches and solenoids on Unit 2 during the recent refueling outage.
It also provides a justification for continued operation considering the main steam isolation valves limit switch installations as inadequate. In addition, since other valve limit switch installations have now been listed as inadequate, the generic justification for limit switches used for position indication, but which lack adequate documentation, is applicable to these situations. GPC is also taking this opportunity to correct some typographical and other miscellaneous errors discovered in the February 1,
- 1981, submittal.
Tnis package contains the amended pages along with instructions for correctly updating the GPC I&E Bulletin 79-018 response.
