Gentleman:
Your letter dated Cecemcer 12, 1980, which requested data in sucpert of :ne man-hours expended in review of your May 30, 1920 request for amend ent to Security Transportation Plan II, was referred to the Physical Security Licensing Branch, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards because thy processed the application and reported the tire.
Mr. McCorkle re: orts that only four (4) hours snould be charged to tne amendment. The four hours were associated witn the research, preparation, finali:aticn, and cocedination of the amendrent and its approval.
The otner hours related to
- llow-up and snipment monitoring activities which occurred after issuance of the approval, anc to certain administrative activities whicn should not be charged against the review.
Basec on this infor-ation, we have asked the NRC Office of the Controller to revise Invoice No. 2C9-81 to read 5152 (4 m-hrs 3 538/m-hr).
We appreciate your bringing this matter to our attention and apologi:e for any inconvenience it may have caused.
As a result, we have again emenasized to the Licensing staff the icportance of accurately re:ceting only the professional canpower actually expended in the review and processing of an applicant's request.
