Eisenhut to All Operating Reactors with Prestressed Concrete Containment Structures

Dear Mr,

Denton:

Reference (a) requested information regarding inservice inspection of prestressed concrete containment structures with greased tendons.

The enclosed procedure for tendon inspections at Zion contains the requested information.

All prior inspections have been carrieo out in accordance with this proceoure.

The results of past inspections including the most recent of 1980 were submitted to your regional office per Zion Tech. Spec. 4.10.2.a.

In adoition to the data already submitted, we wish to comment that during the operating lives of Zion units, there were no repairs or replacements performed on prestressed tendons.

One (1) signed original and thirty-nine (39) copies of this letter are provioed.
