TEMPERATURE RESPONSE OF VAPOR SUPPRESSION CONTAINMENTS FOLLOWING LOSS-0F-COOLANT ACCIDENT q
We are sending, under separate cover, 50 copies of Stone & Webster Topical Report SWECO 8101. A copy of this transmittal letter is attached to each report copy.
In accordance with procedures outlined in NUREG-0390, Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation (S&W) submits S&W Topical Report SWECO 8101, "LOCTVS Computer Code to Determine Pressure and Temperature Response of Vapor Suppression Containments Following Loss-of-Coolant Accident" for review and approval. This report meets the NRC criteria for acceptance as a topical report as concluded in NRC letter from Mr. K. Kniel, dated October 1, 1975 (at that time designated SWEco 7503).
The analytical models described in SWEC0 8101 are used in the LOCTVS computer program. The models described are applicable to over-under and horizontal vent type pressure suppression containments.
SWECO 8101 reflects the current status of the LOCTVS program and is currently being used on River Bend Station - Units 1 and 2 (Docket Nos. 50-458, 459) and Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station - Unit 2 (Docket No. 50-410).
S&W Topical Report SWND-2 and Supplements 1 and 2, which describe an earlier versica of LOCTVS, remain in effect for Shoreham Nuclear Power Station -
Unit 1 (Docket No.50-322) as invoked in its Final Safety Analysis Report.
