Dear Mr. Smith:
By letter dated January 28, 1977, we approved the reactor building crane modification at the Vemont Yankee Nuclear Power Station with the under-standing that, before any cask movement, Corrmission approval was required of the cask lifting device. We have completed our review of the infoma-tion provided by your February 11, 1981 letter describing the CNS 4-45 shipoing cask with its lifting device and concluded that its use is acceptable.
A copy of our Safety Evaluation is enclosed.
