i Introduction p
I f
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 50 59 of the Commission's regulations, Yankee Atomic Electric-Company in Proposed Change No. 50, dated December 16,
[hJ l"
1963, requested authorization of a change in the Technical Specifications h =f l
i attached as Appendix A to License No. DPR-3.
This Proposed Change vould revise certain of the power, temperature, and set point limits stated in the
=
l Technical Specifications.
'Ibese revisions vould provide for operation of the c
reactor at the increased power level of 600 MW thermal which would be author-ized by Proposed Amendment No. 5 Discussion On Nove=ber 23, 1963, the Atomic Energy Co= mission published a notice in the Federal Register (28 FR 12592) that it proposed to issue an authorization to Yankee. Atomic Electric Company to increase the raxir.:n steady state power level of their reactor from 540 to 600 MW thermal. We have reviewed the revisions in the Techni al Specifications which would be authorized by Proposed Change No. 50 and find that they would reflect the conditions of operatien conte = plated and reviewed in conjunction with Proposed Amendment No. 5 Accordingly, the Proposed Change may be authorized, subject to the condition that it not become effective until Amendment No. 5 is effective.
l 1
Conclusion We have concluded that the Proposed Change does not present significant hazards considerations not described or implicit in the hazards simmry
-eport, and that there is reasonable assurance that the health and' safety of the public vill not be endangered.
