O APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Carolina Power and Light Company License No. DPR-71 Brunswick i
Based on the NRC inspection May 28-30 and June 9-12, 1980, certain of your activ-i ities were apparently not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below. These items have been categorized as described in correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.
As required by Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 and as: implemented by 1
j Carolina Power and Light Company's FSAR Section 13.4.30, " Activities affecting l
quality shall be prescribed and accomplished by documented procedures, 1
instructions, or drawings as appropriate." Maintenance Instruction MI 31-4,
" Termination of Electrical Cables and Internal Wiring", requires that the l
1 most recent revised drawing be used to terminate electrical cable.
l Contrary to the above, 17 spare feed-thru conductors of 480 volt electrical penetration assembly (EPA) No. QC0 were not terminated in accordance with drawing numbers FP-9527-3495 and FP-9527-3499. These drawings require the spare conductors to be terminated on EPA terminal boards. On May 29, 1980, the 17 spare leads were found to be lugged, tagged with conductor identifica-tion numbers, and lying loose on the bottom of the EPA.
This is an infraction.
