Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On July 28, 1980, Florida Power Corporation received the subject IE Bulletin 80-18, datea July 24, 1980.
Since receipt of this Bulletin, FPC has been working with Gilbert Associates, Inc., to evaluate the concerns identified in the Bulletin.
To continue our evaluation, it has been determined that pump-specific data is required for pump curves.
Gathering this data through surveil-lance procedure and reanalysis of the concerns of the Bulletin would require until October 10, 1980.
At that time, if availability of mini-mum cooling flow for the centrifugal charging pumps is not assured,,:n 4
will notify you immediately and provide an interim procedure and/or modification to continue operation of the plant.
Our response to the Bulletin with schedule for modifications, if re-quired, will be submitted to you on or before October 24, 1980.
