AMENDED 10CFR50.55(e) REPORT BERGEN-PATERSON PIPE SUPPORT STRUT WITH MECHANICAL SHOCK ARRESTOR CALLAWAY PLANT UNIT 1 Ref:
ULNRC-386, 9/10/80 On July 2, 1980 we provided NRC Region III verbal noti-
.fication of a 10CFR50.55(e) report regarding a potential bolt head-pipe clamp interference which could hinder the full function of Bergen-Paterson (B-P) pipe support strut assemblies containing Pacific Scientific mechanical shock arrestors.
In the final report transmitted with the referenced letter we indicated that information Bechtel Power Corporation had received from B-P advised that all assemblies for Callaway Unit I were corrected prior to shipnent.
We have now determined that two pipe support strut assemblies delivered to callaway have not been corrected.
These items are identified by hanger mark numbers 2-EM01-R030/112 and 2-EM01-C043/112.
Bechtel Power Corporation has analyzed these two supports and has determined that no condition adverse to safety would result if the existing interference were not corrected.
These two supports, one installed and one in the warehouse, have been placed on hold anc will be appropriately dispositioned according to existing non-conformance control procedures.
