.v NOTICE OF VIOLATION Based upon the results of the NRC inspection conducted on June 18, 1980, one of your activities appears to be in noncompliance with NRC regulations as indicated below:

Contrary to 10 CFR 71.5, a shipment of licensed material was delivered to a carrier for transport that did not comply with the applicable require-ments of the Department of Transportation.

Specifically, two containers in your shipment of June 3, 1980, contained sufficient radioactive material to yield exposure rates at contact of 80 and 70 mR/ hour.

These levels exceed radiation levels specified in 49 CFR 172.403(c)(1) for the radio-active yellow II label and the containers were therefore improperly labeled.

This item is considered category III.
