Docket No. 50-285 Mr. W. C. Jones Division Manager, Production Operations Omaha Public Power District 1623 Harney Street Omaha, Nebraska 68102

Dear Mr. Jones:

In our continuing effort to complete our review and close-out some of the generic issues which are outstanding for the Fort Calhoun Station, the staff has reviewed your February 17 and July 18, 1979 submittals related to steam generator tube denting and support plate modifications. The findings of our review indicate that since:

(1) the Fort Calhoun Station has operated for over seven years with no steam generator tube leaks or failures, (2) only three tubes (in steam generator "A") nave been plugged, due to wall thinaing discovered during eddy current testing, and (3) the Fort Calhoun Station Technical Specifications are consistent with the Standard Technical Specifications regarding steam generator tube inspections, na further action on this issue is warranted.

Tne staff, therefore, concludes that this generic issue, which we have designated B-37, *s resolved for your facility.

If you have any questions on this subject, please contact your NRC Project Manager.

Sincerely,

/7 I
