Atlanta, Georgia Re: McGuire Nuclear Station IE Bulletin 79-13, Revision 2 RLIndPO I

Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

My letter of.Tenuary 3,1980, reported the results of the radiographic examinations of the auxiliary feedwater and main feedwa: er nozzle to j

piping welds on the four Unit 1 steam generators.

In that letter it was stated that the indications found during the radiographic testing were not in the nozzle base material. Subsequently, it was determined that the indication found in the auxiliaty feedwater nozzle on Steam Generator A was in fact located in the nozzle base material. The indica-tion is, however, still considered acceptable.

I hope this will clarify any misunderstanding on this matter.

If you have j

further questions regarding this matter, please advise.

1 Very truly yours, ee._,M m
