Dear Mr. Martin:
As discussed in the April 22,1981 telephone conversation between Mr. Thomas
J. Martin and Lowell E. Tripp of my staff, a meeting has been scheduled with
Dravo Corporation at their request to discuss nondestructive examination of
weld buildups. This meeting is to be held in Poom E/W 319 at the Nuclear
Regulatory Comission offices. East-West Towers Building, 4350 East-West
Highway, Bethesda, Maryland at 1:00 p.m. on April 30, 1981. This meeting is
expected to discuss the NDE of weld buildups as a generic issue, however,
since this issue was originally raised as a result of a Notice of Violation
for Docket No. 50-354 sent to you as an enclosure to our letter of August 21,
1980, we understand that you wish to send Public Service representative (s) to
this meeting.
Your most recent letter dated April 1, 1981 containing your final report of
actions taken in response to the findings of Inspection 79-04 relative to
weld buildup on pipe fabricated by Dravo, Incorporated is currently being
reviewed by my staff. We will respond to that letter at a later date.
