PROJECT fiOS. 3 AtlD 5 RESP 0 lSE TO IE BULLETIN 80-21 The following actions are being taken to resolve the concerns expressed in the subject bulletin.
f,ll valve contractors that supply valves for WiiP-3/5 have been contacted to determine if any of the active valves planned for use in safety related systcms have valve parts cast by fticolm Foundry Company.
If active safety related valves with potentially faulty material are found, they shall immediately be inspected visually for cracks. Then the manu-facturer of the valves shall either:
a)
Verify that all valve parts cast by flalcolm have mechanical properties in accordance with ASTM material specifications; or b)
Replace defective material and/or valve by an acceptable substitute; or c)
Identify any other corrective actions that may be excercised and the basis for such actions.

Washington Public Power Supply System Mr. R. H. Engel ken Page Two Contractor findings are expected by April 24, 1981. The Supply System will issue a supplemental response by May 22, 1981.
