SUMMARY
'0F CHANGES IN ACCORDANCE WITH 10 CFR 50.59(b)
- 1) The' California Highway Patrol has informed SMUD that it has been in violation of state law whenever the Emergency "ehicle was used.
An-agreement was made between SMUD and the Highway Patrol-that.wou!d allow SMUD to use the Emergency Vehicle if certain. conditions.are met.
These conditions and an explanation for the change are being included in-the Emergency Plan.
^The change.toiAP'500 indicated th'e' conditions under which the ambulance

SUMMARY
OF CHANGES IN ACCORDANCE WITH 10 CFR 50.59(b) (Concinued)
- 2) The design which provides normal motive and control power for the Pressurizer PORV PSV-21511 was upgraced in order to enable the operator to control the operation of the PORV when offsite power is not available.
To orovide this capability, power to battery charger H4BE
(
will be supplied from Class IE MCC S2A1.
1he ? position selector switch on Panel H4Pl01 was changed to a 4-position selector switch for manual or automatic operatior, of the PCRV and relocated to panel HIRC.
- 3) Modified internals vent valve jack screw locking device. The new Jack screw lock design provides for locking the jack screw by crimpinq a locking cup in two places, 180 apart, to a sleevi which is shrunken to fit the jack screw. The locking cup is supported and positioned by a block. The block is secured to the vent valve top retaining ring by high-strength socket-head cap screws which are locked in turn by crimped locking cups, This design provides a solid locking device, and it climinates the U-cover, spring retainer, spring, key ring, pressure plate, and socket-head cap screws.
4)
Installed and connected circuits to new station service transformer, X-43B2, and disconnected cables and bus duct presently connecteo to X438. This change enables the routing of circuits to X43B2 so they Co not have to pass through the mezzanine corridor and assure that a design basis fire occurring in the mezzanine corridor will not prevent a safe shutdown and cooldown.
- 5) Upgraded design to providn power and control to the pressurizer PORV block valve, HV-21505, in order to enable the operator to control operation of the valve when off-site power is not available.
The power ard control supplies for the PORV block valve were changed from normal MCC bus, 202, to safety-related MCC bus, 281, which can receive power f rom the of f-site source or f rom diesel generators when of f-site power it not available.
Safety grade devices are used for tha power and control connections to MCC bus 2Bl.
