OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Highlights Vermont Yankee operated at 83.66% of rated thermal power for the month.

Gross electrical generation was 331746 MWH, or 82.57%of design electrical capacity.

Operating Summarv The following is a chronological description of plant operations including other pertinent items of interest for the month:

1/1/81 At the beginning of the reporting period, the plant was at 24% rated thermal power due to the efforts underway for the Reactor Water Cleanup CUW-3 line repair.

At 2145 hours0.0248 days 0.596 hours 0.00355 weeks 8.161725e-4 months repairs were completed and a power increase initiated.

1/2/81 At 1051 hours0.0122 days 0.292 hours 0.00174 weeks 3.999055e-4 months a power reduction was initiated for the repair of MSIV's 86A and 80B.

At 1200 hours0.0139 days 0.333 hours 0.00198 weeks 4.566e-4 months the generator was removed from the grid. The reactor was maintained critical at low power.

1/3/81 At 1245 hours0.0144 days 0.346 hours 0.00206 weeks 4.737225e-4 months repairs were completed and a power increase initiated.
