Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

The purpose of this letter is to clarify previous responses to the subject bulletin which were transmitted by my letters of January 3, 1980 and September 11, 1980. Hopefully, the reiteration below will clear this item. The radiographic examination performed in accordance with IE Bulletin 79-13 revealed an indication in the auxiliary feedwater nozzle of Steam Generation A in Unit 1. This indication was evaluated by subsequent visual examination (fiber optics) and the surface irregularities on the nozzle inside diameter were found to be in the same location as was shown on the RT film. It is felt these surface irregularities contributed to the RT film indications. Based on the above it has been determined that the indication is acceptable. The visual inspection of piping supports referenced in the original response to the subject bulletin will be completed prior to fuel load. V y truly yours, f
