(, plication dated May 1, 1962, relating to high radiation areas as apelied to the operation of the Big Rock Point reactor.

The matter of the exemption from Part 20 was considered during the Regulatory Staff's evaluation of Consumer's application for a provi-sional operating license as indicated by question number 4-21 in the Staf f's request for additional information dated April 18, 1962.

In Amendment No.10 to its application, Consumers proposed (1) that all areas with radiation levels in excess of 1 res/hr would be equipped with locked and alarmed doors, (2) that areas with radiation levels between 100 mrea/hr and 1 rea/hr for which locked doors were not provided would be secured with locked chains across entrances, (3)

that the areas would be posted and the keys controlled by the reactor supervisor, and (4) that an individual entering a high radiation area would carry a radiation survey meter or be accompanied by a person using such a meter.
