Mr. A. Schwencer JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT - UNIT 2 PROPOSED FIRE PROTECTION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGES Gentlemen:

As a result of meetings with the NRC Staff on August 21-28, 1980, regarding the Appendix "A" Technical Specifications, the Staff requested that Alabama Power Company submit a list of fire detection instruments to be included in the Appendix "A" Technical Specifications issued with the full power license.

To ensure that the list of fire detection instruments is repre-sentative of the installed equipment, a plant walkdown was conducted to determine which devices should be included in the Technical Specifications. is the list of fire detection devices.

The list of sprinkler systems listed in Table 3.7-5 of the current i

l Unit 2 Appendix "A" Technical Specifications was based on a review of design drawings before installation was completed. A system walkdown was perfomed to verify that the sprinkler systems included in the Technical Specifications were representative of the installed sprinkler systems. is the revis,ed list of sprinkler systems.

It is requested that the list of sprinkler systems and detection devices identified in Enclosures 1 and 2 be included with the Appendix "A" Technical Specifications to be issued with the full power license.
