Mr. Harold R. Denton, Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C.

20555 Attention:

Mr. B. J. Youngblood, Chief Licensing Projects Branch No. 1 Re: McGuire Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-369, -370

Dear Mr. Denton:

My letter of November 26, 1980 requested extensions of the McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 construction permits.

It was further indicated that the fuel loading date for Unit 1 was February 16, 1981. A reevaluation of this schedule shows that Unit 1 could be ready for fuel loading as early as January 28, 1981. This is primarily due to a reduced number of pipe hangers requiring modification than originally estimated. Accordingly, it is requested that you continue your review efforts to support a fuel loading date of January 28, 1980.

Please note that this letter does not alter the construction permit extension request of my letter of November 26, 1980.

Very truly yours, l~

j William O. Parker, Jr.
